Fun First Choice PR stunt invites public to apply for £20k job as ‘water slide tester’

Tour operator First Choice is calling for members of the public to apply for a £20k per year job as a water slide tester, to replace outgoing Tommy Lynch, who chose to ‘hang up his trunks’ after four years.

The role, which is all part of a fun campaign being looked after by PR agency H&K Strategies, will see the lucky recruit travelling to First Choice’s 20 SplashWorld resorts during the summer months, rating the slides and attractions at each.

According to The Telegraph, there would be ‘other facets to the role’, including using social media to promote the water parks.

A shortlist of five candidates will have a final interview at a water park in April, with one successful applicant receiving a six-month contract. On top of the £20,000 salary, travel expenses will be covered, and they will receive a free one-week holiday for two at the end of their tenure.

It’s a fun stunt and has been picked up by the Guardian, Sun, Telegraph and more at the time of writing.

Those interested can apply at www.firstchoice.co.uk/slidetester before February 28.
