Whopper Exchange: Burger King will exchange your unwanted holiday gifts for a Whopper.

By on Thursday, December 22, 2016

This holiday, you can put your unwanted gifts to good use and get some free food at the same time. Burger King is offering customers the chance to exchange unwanted holiday gifts for a Whopper on Dec. 26. The exchange program is valid in three specific stores one from each participant city: Miami (US), London (UK) and São Paulo (Brazil).

The US and UK promotion is valid for the first 100 people, while in Brazil the promotion will accept exchanges from the first 500 people. The gift must be unused to be accepted and, according to a Burger King spokesperson, “the acceptability of item will be determined by Burger King Restaurant personnel in their sole discretion”. All the gifts will then be donated to The Salvation Army, as gifts that might be unwanted for some, can become a treasure for others.

If you don’t live in one of those places, you can still take part on social media; the first fans to post a picture on Twitter or Instagram with their questionable gifts using the hashtag #WhopperExchange will get a “surprise” from Burger King’s social media accounts.

“It doesn’t matter if the person is good or naughty, all are welcome. We want to always surprise our fans and guarantee the best experience and the best sandwich, ” says Ariel Grunkraut, CMO for Burger King Brazil. In the words of Fernando Machado Burger King Senior VP of Global Brand Management, “The Whopper Exchange will offer our guests the chance to get a flame-grilled gift in exchange for an unwanted one, because this holiday season, we want everyone to receive something they will love.”

If you live in London, Miami or São Paulo and catch this post in time to actually participate in this stunt, here are the addresses of participating restaurants on December 26:
