Volkswagen ‘fixes’ Abbey Road cover

Sometimes the best creative work requires a little tweak to something familiar to create a brilliant campaign.

Volkswagen Sweden have done just that by marking the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road by correcting the parking of the VW Beetle on the iconic (a word dreadfully overused by us PRs to describe something ‘quite well known’, but in this case entirely justified) album cover.

The creative also doubles as an ad for VW’s Park Assist feature, showing that a driver today would never end up parked on the pavement.

Even better, the remastered album covers are currently for sale online, and profits will be donated to Swedish children’s rights nonprofit Bris.

    This is where VW Sweden doesn’t get it. The VW SHOULD be parked half-on-half-off the road. Otherwise, it doesn’t look right..
