Celebrities share their favourite vagina metaphor emojis for sexual health awareness week

Celebrities and influencers are sharing which emoji they use to represent their vaginas as part of a cervical cancer charity campaign for Jo’s Trust, encouraging more ‘supportive conversations’ about smear tests.

Monday marked the start of Sexual Health Awareness week and Jo’s Trust teamed up with Twitter to launch the #EndSmearFear campaign. Tweeting her support, Love Island star Maura Higgins referenced her ‘fanny flutters’ catchphrase by choosing a butterfly emoji whilst blogger Poppy Deyes opted for a peach as her emoji of choice.

Jo’s Trust explained on Twitter: “#SmearTests aren’t always easy. Fear, not understanding what the test is for and embarrassment make booking and going for a test hard. For other women, including survivors of sexual violence or those with some health conditions, it can be especially difficult. That’s why we’re partnering with @TwitterUK to create a safe space to ask questions, share tips and support others. #EndSmearFear aims to normalise conversations about #SmearTests to help address some of the concerns and uncertainty that exists”.
