Nivea test sunburn binoculars in Brazil

Skincare brand Nivea has launched its latest campaign to raise awareness about the importance of using protection against the sun.

Nivea’s new Sun Binoculars rely on special technology, a superzoom lens and filters that detect UV rays, which can reveal if beachgoers are protected by sunscreen or not.

The tech was trialled on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and the country endured one of its hottest Summers in recent history.

Watch towers were constructed on the beaches in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and operators can communicate with a beach team to alert the public if they are not adequately protected.
