To celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Sopranos, HBO’s social media team went full Tony Soprano, handing out mafia-style nicknames on Twitter to anyone who wanted a piece of the action.
Celebrities, sports stars, TV channels and consumer brands from all corners of the internet came knocking and HBO fired out an array of brilliant responses in real-time.
Tennis ace Roger Federer was renamed as ‘The Feds’, George R.R. Martin, creator of Game of Thrones was dubbed ‘Father of Dragons’ and Macaulay Culkin was aptly named ‘Filthy Animal’.
