UKTV Play release spoof reality TV mini series “Geek Island”

UKTV Play have released a new four part mini-series “Geek Island” in a playful parody of the Reality TV genre.

It follows eight hot young singletons in their quest for love.

The format might sound familiar, but in this show, smart is the new sexy.

Rather than arguments over who is “loyal” and confusion over Brexit, in Geek Island you will find each of the brainy contestants bonding over their respect of quantum mechanics and falling out over differing opinions of philosophical theorems.

The new show stars some familiar faces in the form of University Challenge legend Bobby Seagull, Ex Miss England Stephanie Hill and Georgie Clarke renown for her time on ITV’s Survival of the Fittest.

The mini-series was created to celebrate UKTV Play’s collection of documentary and factual programs landing on the platform throughout September.

Scott Russell, Creative Director, UKTV commented: “We know intelligent programming sets many pulses racing for our viewers and Geek Island provides a fun way for people to dive into our incredible season of factual content. We’re proud to be making smart programming sexy for a new generation of viewers.”

You can watch the first episode of “Geek Island” below with the remaining episodes available to watch for free now on UKTV Play.
