Radio station pranksters replace Ikea signs ahead of England vs Sweden game

By on Saturday, July 7, 2018

Pranksters from radio station Capital North East have been tampering with the signs at a local Ikea ahead of England’s quarter final clash with Sweden today.

The cheeky marketing stunt involved the replacement of various product signs around the Gateshead store with a new one – bearing the message ‘Football Etskömmånhjöme’ (Football’s Coming Home).

The signs, which reference lyrics to footie anthem Three Lions, were left all around the furnishings emporium on sofas, cookers and tables.

The sign-swapping stunt is doing the rounds on social media.

The £19.66 price references the  1966 FIFA World Cup where England beat West Germany 4–2 in the final.

The radio station released a video on their Facebook page which shows the installation.
