BT TV have created a huge ice-block installation to launch The Terror on BT TV next week.

The structure measuring  9ft 10in by 7ft 3in features statues of the 19th century arctic explorers, dressed in the original costumes from the show trapped within the ice.

This installation is to reflect the treacherous conditions, limited resources and fear of the unknown that the characters have to deal with in the new drama.

The Terror is inspired by true stories from the Royal Navy’s perilous voyage into uncharted territory as the crew attempts to discover the Northwest Passage.

BT TV erected the installation outside the Old Royal College in Greenwich, which is home to the Sir John Franklin memorial; the leader of the exploration crew featured in the series.

Pedestrians in London were given the opportunity to place themselves inside the sculpture thanks to an opening in the rear to experience the arctic conditions the crew had to deal with.
