Thousands of job-hunters apply for Lego-playing role

Thousands of hopefuls have applied for a £27,000 job where you get to play with Lego all day.

News reports reveal that more than 5,000 applicants submitted CVs for the post of master model builder at a new Legoland Discovery Centre.

The stunt follows the evergreen PRedilection for ‘Greatest Job EVER’ activations – which have variously included Chocolate taster, ale drinker, water slide tester, and of course Tourism Australia’s universally famous agenda setter.

Lego bosses have today revealed they will whittle CV’s down to 50 applicants, who will then be put to the test in a series of challenges.

The winner will get to spend their days constructing attractions, curating exhibitions and teaching children and families how to create their own Lego masterpieces.

The Birmingham centre’s general manager Amy Langham said: “The master model builder role is a privileged position and the number of applications has come as no surprise.”
