Marie Curie charity to set up Christmas tree powered by ‘memories’

The terminal illness charity, Marie Curie, is creating a ‘memory-powered’ Christmas tree that will be located in front of the London Eye on the Southbank between 4th and 17th December.

Marie Curie to set up Christmas tree powered by memories

The fairy lights on the tree will be powered by people sharing their memories on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #LightUpXmas. The more people who post using the hashtag, the brighter the lights will shine.

I think this is a really sweet stunt, it creates positivity during the Christmas period, which can be a tough time for people. In sharing these memories, it helps remind people of the better times in their lives and with Marie Curie behind it, the people using the charity will certainly need all of positivity they can get.

It will also be an eye-catching stunt, with the lights growing brighter and brighter each day as more people use the hashtag, I can’t wait to see how many people on social media support this great cause.
