KFC is taking ‘finger licking good’ to the next level

KFC has branched out onto the beauty market with a brand new range of nail polishes. The fast food restaurant famous for its ‘finger licking good’ chicken has taken its slogan to the extreme with two flavoured nail polishes.

To ensure the famous chicken taste last longer, people can now paint their nails with one of two flavours – original or hot & spicy. KFC has teamed up with food technologists at McCormick, to create the nail polishes for KFC Hong Kong, inspired by the mix of 11 secret herbs that create the iconic KFC taste.

At this point the nail polishes have only been teased on social media and aren’t yet being mass produced. Although the product’s are branded as edible nail polishes, this beauty product is for your taste buds only and should encourage licking not eating!

KFC Hong Kong even made a music video to promote the tasty nail polish!

KFC aren’t strangers to a PR stunt, with previous marketing campaigns launching a ‘chicken corsage’ and even making its logo visible from space.

John Koay, Ogilvy creative director said about the current stunt,

“The recipe for our edible nail polish is unique and was specifically designed to hold the flavor, but to also dry with a glossy coat similar to normal nail polish.

“This campaign is designed to be intriguing and fun to increase excitement around the KFC brand in Hong Kong.”
