Domestic violence awareness campaign makes grave point using YouTube’s 360° feature

There’s a lot of talk of VR and 360° content within marketing, and rightly so. It’s something I’ve written quite a bit about before (for those interested, couple of intro pieces here and here), and something that deserves to be more than a gimmick used by brands desperate to shout ‘FIRST’, before moving onto the next big thing.

Anywho, I just spotted this powerful campaign on the excellent Adverblog, which has started writing again after a six-month hiatus.

Family Matters is a psychological aid center in Russia. To highlight the fact 14 000 Russian women die every year – one every forty minutes – as a result of domestic violence, and making good use of YouTube’s much-hyped 360° feature, the center released this video, asking the public ‘not to look the other way’.

It’s impressively done, and you’ll want to watch it more than once.
