Ron Burgundy to release ‘greatest autobiography ever written’

The PR efforts for the hotly anticipated sequel to Anchorman has kicked off with the announcement that legendary San Diego news anchor Ron Burgundy will be releasing his tell-all autobiography, superbly entitled ‘Let Me Off at the Top! My Classy Life and Other Musings.

I don’t know many people who don’t want to see ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues’ because, let’s be fair, the first film is absolutely awesome. In fact, the PR team for the film really need not bother at all and I’m sure it will be a hit whatever they do or do not do PR-wise.  It’s great to see then, that real effort has been put into launching the film and what a concept.  Yes, we know Ron Burgundy is a fictional character but we’d like to believe that’s not true and this really helps to fuel the idea you may one day meet this guy!

In a fit of sales genius the book will be released at the height of the seasonal shopping season, a month before the film hits cinemas on 20th December.

One disappointment to hit UK fans is that the book is only officially being released in  the US, though a UK release date seems likely to be announced.

A great stunt, for what is likely to be a great film (can you tell I’m excited!)
