An exclusive in The Sun this morning reveals that beer brand Peroni has snubbed the seaside town of Skegness, believing the £5 beer is too upmarket for local bars.

Local Derek Bain of the Crown Hotel was outraged when Peroni inspectors dubbed his three star hotel not posh enough for the upmarket Italian beer and alerted The Sun of the snub.

The Sun claims two other bars have been snubbed. But is this a consumer affairs scoop from The Sun or a seeded story from the PR team to make Peroni seem more exclusive?

After all… they sell it in Pizza Express so it can’t be that posh, now can it?
