Estate agent uses Facebook to create a tailor-made showhome

If you’re in the market for a new place to live, then one of the problems with looking around showhomes is that you can’t always picture yourself in them. Brazil’s Carvalho Hosken, one of the country’s most famous real estate companies, found a novel way round the problem, whilst at the same time supporting their proposition that their new apartments were 100% tailor-made to each buyer: The Social Home.

In order to make it a unique experience for each potential buyer, the company ‘decorated’ the apartment with customised items, including picture frames, TV, favourite films, work addresses and even phone calls, using Facebook information from visitors. In fact access to the house could only be gained via a Facebook login.

According to the case study video, the conversion rate into sales was three times higher than usual, while the project created a good level of social buzz, with almost half of visitors going on to share their experience on Facebook. An effective idea that we could well see more of in future – just as long as you don’t mind giving even more apps access to your Facebook profile!
