Huge pumpkin carving raises awareness of Elephant plight

In the spirit of Halloween, the Bronx Zoo and 96 Elephants enlisted the help of Pumpkin Sculpt USA to create an incredible, 400kg Elephant pumpkin carving.

The sculpture was made specifically for the elephant organisation – so-called because 96 African Elephants are killed each day for their ivory – and serves as a great picture stunt to raise awareness of their cause.

Granted, an elephant sporting an impressive pair of tusks may have been more relevant, but the sheer artistry involved in this piece makes it impressive enough on its own.
